You get a paycheck, and every two weeks you are even with the company.
Do not expect to move ahead. Management is not open to new ideas, and middle management is too busy managing up to do any of their employees any favors. Even with good annual reviews, never expect to move much beyond where you started. The only way to move up is to leave the company and come back in a different role.
