Just a few tech questions and some behavioral questions. Two rounds: one with a manager, one with a tech lead.

They made a verbal offer at the end, but salary-wise it was much lower than my current salary. They were unwilling to increase the RSUs to bring up the total compensation package to my current base salary.

They told me that there is a misconception with Oracle salaries. There are effectively two tech orgs in Oracle: one is Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), then there is everything else. Even though the base salary matches between both orgs, the Oracle Cloud team gets huge RSU grants, which are not available to other tech orgs.

It felt like they don't value the tech workers in non-OCI, and they make it pretty obvious in the salary negotiations.

Seems like they are heading for a lawsuit sometime soon.
