Interviewed three separate times with different members of the team. Mostly technical, and asked questions about my resume and most recent work history. Great product + Excellent people = Awesome company
Engineer • Current Employee

Pros: Interesting and challenging work. Good salary and benefits. Great people, peers, and managers. They really care about the product, the people, the users, and their health.
Cons: Like many smaller companies that are still basically a startup, Oura has a somewhat dynamic environment. New people join, some (very few) leave, and direction and priorities change more quickly than at the "dinosaur" companies I worked at. However, during 2022/2023, with about 500 FTEs, there is a noticeable improvement in stability and forward-looking plans.

Pros: Good base pay. Get to wear many hats; a good amount of time off.
Cons: Engineering teams are understaffed and overworked. Management won't hire engineers to properly staff programs. Recruiters lie to potential hires about the value of their RSU shares. They cut corners to deliver mediocre products.

Good product, talented team, lacks vision and clear direction
Engineer • Former Employee
San Francisco, CA

Pros: Great work life balance. Passionate and capable team. Growing, but still lots of opportunities to make an impact and solve problems creatively.
Cons: Limited individual ownership over many engineering decisions. I'm sure there's lots of variation per team, but many technical decisions become a committee decision, without a clear owner, slowing things down.
