The interview process at Palantir is quite thorough. I was surprised by how quickly and efficiently it proceeded compared to many other companies from which I had received offers.

The process begins with your application, after which a recruiter reaches out within one to two days.

I had a phone screen with my recruiter, although I was set up by someone else. To my surprise, the recruiter who called me from the DC office was from a Computer Science background, so we immediately began with technical questions. This was the first time I had spoken with someone technical in a recruiter role. He was thorough, asked many questions about myself, and then posed some challenges tougher than those I had encountered in other postings.

He then arranged an immediate on-site interview at the DC office. Before the on-site interview, he called me again to discuss what my day would entail, and we spent an hour talking back and forth. I had numerous questions, and he was extremely patient in answering each one.

At the McLean office, I had several interviews, mostly technical, focusing on my experiences and CS problems. Lunch and a product demonstration were also provided.

Afterwards, I met with the recruiter again. We spent a considerable amount of time discussing the role, the company's perks, the compensation system, and I had another opportunity to ask questions. I was genuinely impressed by how smoothly the process went and how personable the recruiter was. He even remembered my wife's name, which I had mentioned on the phone!

The office is great. It's a shame I won't be joining them. Within two days, the recruiter called to inform me that they had decided to pass. We discussed other potential roles within the company.
