Process

I was contacted by a recruiter via email. We scheduled a call for her to tell me about the company and to answer any questions I had. We talked for about 40 minutes.

Shortly after the call, I was sent an online coding quiz. I had five days to begin the quiz, and once started, it had to be completed within 90 minutes. I started it on the third day and finished it in about 20 minutes.

Next, two weeks later, I had a phone interview with an engineer, using an online coding tool that we could both edit simultaneously. The interviewer was polite and quite good at interviewing. He asked three questions, each with minor follow-ups.

Finally, a few days later, I spoke with a different engineer. He asked two questions and then gave me ample time to ask about the team and projects.

This last part is what made me consider this a negative experience:

I thought I was acing the interviews. I answered all the questions correctly (to the best of my knowledge) with minimal help from the interviewers. I asked detailed questions about the company, its structure, and future when given the chance. That's why I was surprised to find a cookie-cutter rejection letter in my inbox.

Four weeks of coordination, three rounds of interviews, and they can't even call me or tell me where I went wrong. What a joke. If they had just called, I would mark it down as a positive.
