Pros

Compensation is great, rivaling all but top-tier companies like Google and Meta.

There are a lot of options for promotions or internal mobility.

The atmosphere is good, with great people to work with.

It keeps a healthy combination of innovation, a push for new innovations and tight deadlines, together with overall good work-life balance. This is because every year you will have some months with pushy deadlines, but most of the time this doesn't happen, so it's easier to maintain motivation.

Currently, it is keeping a hybrid work structure from home and office.

Cons
  • Shows initial signs of "corporate work" – meaning dealing with some more bureaucracy at work as time moves on.
  • Lacking some flexibility; it's hard to push for innovation in smaller tasks, as it's difficult to prioritize small extra tasks from team members.
Advice to Management

I think Palo is a great company, starting to show signs of "corporatization" (even though it's a corporate, the work there wasn't reflecting this part).

I think we need to improve and reduce bureaucracy between teams and increase the lower managers/team-members' ability to introduce some small quality-of-life innovations, which is a bit lacking today.
