Pros

Good pay with flexwork reimbursement, ~$1500 during COVID-19.

Stocks are growing, all-time high.

Visionary CEO with a strong market presence.

15% ESPP investment option.

Cons

Lot of cons, let me add a few:

  • Mediocre leadership in Prisma Cloud, who get recognition because of an incredible pool of engineers.
  • Most engineering managers should get a role change to people managers because they have technical debt and can’t lead engineering initiatives.
  • Favouritism and politics are rampant, which spoils the team culture.
  • Very high attrition rate; good employees are leaving within a year or two because they are unheard due to the favouritism of old Redlock employees.
  • Management expectations: QA/Perf/DevOps are supposed to be available from 8 am to 11 pm.

Advice to Management

Crackdown politics at a higher level.

HR should be accountable and suppose to conduct team/manager skip-level meetings more often.

At present, Prisma Cloud is completely under the control of managers, and HR doesn’t care for the team members even after receiving complaints or feedback about the managers.

A toxic work culture; even high stock prices/RSUs are not able to retain employees or reduce the attrition rate.
