I applied through Handshake, and a recruiter contacted me with an initial assessment test. The test consisted of objective questions on OOPS, SQL, and PHP.
Once I cleared the initial assessment, the recruiter contacted me again through Handshake to book a slot for the second round of interview. This was finally scheduled via Zoom.
However, the day before the interview, the recruiter sent an email stating that the interview had been canceled due to my GPA. Paycom expects a GPA of 3.5 and above.
I replied immediately, noting that no GPA requirement was mentioned in the job description or preferred requirements. I also mentioned that my GPA is only 0.06 less than 3.5 and that I have good industrial experience as a software engineer across various domains and technologies.
In their reply, they stated that it is a company policy, and they do not hire anyone with a GPA less than 3.5.
