Four rounds of interviews were conducted:
The first two rounds were satisfactory. I was able to answer their design questions, though they seemed to be looking for very specific answers rather than the approach taken.
The third round of interviews was quite disappointing. The interviewer had an "I know everything" attitude. To most of my answers, he would laugh sarcastically and deny the correctness of my responses, which was very unprofessional.
The fourth, manager round, was semi-formal. We discussed network designs, and he seemed quite confident in my abilities.
After a long, five-week interview process, I never received any feedback from PayPal, which was another disappointment. One would expect some form of communication after spending hours interviewing with a reputed company.
An interesting thing happened: I received calls from two different third-party recruiters for the same role. I learned that PayPal had been looking for this role for the past nine months. I am curious how their leadership is okay with this, as it seems they are interviewing only to reject candidates.
