It eventually happened, and pretty quickly in the interview, it seemed they had reorganized the position I applied for. The position carried the same title but had vastly different expectations, which was jarringly out of line with the job description.

It didn't go well because I couldn't speak to what they asked.

A takeaway might be to take staff reviews at face value regarding pervasive reorgs and restructuring.
