Politics is not too much, but it's there. People tend to take away your work if you are not careful enough.
Many KT sessions and seminars would happen, but you won't get time to participate in them.
Regular Lay-Offs.
I joined PayPal by reading all the good reviews here. But they laid me off within one year, saying silly things. You are likely to be thrown away after a project gets over.
HRs spoke to me so nicely, made many promises, and called me often to get me on board. In the end, they escaped. I suspect most reviews are posted by marketing HR themselves.
If you are already settled in a good company, don't join here. You will be screwed.
You will always be loaded heavily. No breathing time in between projects. I had worked even on weekends for months. No work-life balance. Still, your work won't be appreciated.
Pay will be good on paper only. After all taxes, it's almost like the old salary only. I don't know how they are a top 25 best company to work with. It's false.
If you are joining as a lateral with good experience, it is difficult to survive competing with guys sitting, rubbing the bench here for years. Since most of the things here are internal. Also, if you are caught for a long term, it's difficult for the next jump.
CEO talks so soft & nice in videos; but in actual, management is very rude, and never cares for employees.
I overheard two very top management people talking in the library, "It's boring to see old faces daily – let's fire some and get fresh faces in." Understand their mentality.
So, you can be fired anytime. Severance pay won't be that good if you haven't spent many years in PayPal.
I know the pay will hide your eyes, but based on my experience, I am saying you will regret joining here. Better take some more time and prepare well, and join a better product company. Remember, PayPal even fired Elon Musk.
Get rid of hire and fire culture. Why do you hire people who are well settled in another organization, assuring better pay and a stable job, and then collapse their careers?
A hire and fire culture, even at a low level, will destroy trust and eventually the company itself over the years.
Managers do not care what employees do. There is no need for micromanagement, but at least know who is doing what.
Remember Infosys, who fired extensively in 2007-09. They never regained the No. 2 position since they lost employee trust. If you care only for shareholders, they will leave you anytime if you are not profitable; if you care for employees, they will help you bounce back.
There are 4 rounds: * Hacker Rank * System Design + DSA (any one needs to be cleared) * Technomanagerial round (questions about your project experience) * Bar Raiser round (questions about people management)
I attended the online test but didn't receive further progress mail. At least they could have sent me a rejection mail. The first round was comparatively easy, though. My friends got into further rounds.
There were 3 technical rounds, and what should have been one Hiring Manager round turned out to be two. I'm guessing they overhired and needed to get rid of me. They took my documentation, pay slips, and appraisal data from the last 2 years (I'm a c
