Outstanding coworkers and very good compensation.
I have been in software for 15 years and have never met another company where they tell you NOT to learn new technologies. Their whole goal is instead to have you devote your time to getting people in India up to speed and to do the work for you. As a result of this, the opportunities and career path are very limited. Forget training.
I did not experience this for the first few years when I joined; at that time, it was a thriving environment, but this is what the company has become, and it shows as internal quality has gone down and we are not up on the newest/best technologies.
Additionally, if you get a good manager, things can be okay; if not, your career will die. There seems to be no decent way of regulating this from the top.
Lastly, promotions and career growth are non-existent if you are on the technology side. It is significantly better if you are on the business one.
Listen to the people on the ground, not those in the middle. Those on the ground will let you know what really works and what does not. Make sure management knows what their employees are doing (strangely, often they do not) – things in technology do not get magically done on their own.
There were 3 technical rounds, and what should have been one Hiring Manager round turned out to be two. I'm guessing they overhired and needed to get rid of me. They took my documentation, pay slips, and appraisal data from the last 2 years (I'm a c
After initial screening, candidates will be called for multiple technical interviews. I had an interview with the other senior engineer working on the team, then I had an interview with the manager.
The process was smooth and the recruiter communicated well. It was about 5 interviews in total, including design, cultural fit, and coding. There seem to be last-minute changes to their recruitment guidelines with respect to location/level.
