I applied for a Staff Engineer position (Leaderboard team) with Peloton through a friend who worked there.

Spoke with the recruiter who discussed the role and the product. The next step was an outsourced coding interview with Karat (LC medium). The problem was split into two parts. I completed the first part with tests passing and could not complete the second part due to lack of time. There is no way you can solve it in 30 minutes unless you have already seen and solved it before. But since I had gotten the first part working well, I was under the impression I had proved my skills adequately to be qualified.

The recruiter ghosted at this point, not even a standard reply saying I passed or failed. Three weeks later, after contacting my friend who worked there, I got a reply from the recruiter with no feedback other than saying the role was filled and I could take a few more Karat interviews for other roles. There was no answer when I requested specific feedback on where I failed.

Recruiter, if you are reading this, it's not good etiquette to ghost on candidates the way you did. Candidates spend a lot of time prepping for these interviews, and it's disrespectful when you ghost and don't provide feedback. It reflects poorly on you and your company.

I feel the company did not respect my time and was unprofessional in the way they treated me during the process. I can only imagine how it would feel for the people who work there with that kind of attitude.
