A recruiter contacted me a few months ago, but I wasn't available for a change at that time. I contacted them back a few weeks ago, and we started the interview process.
Since then, I had several (five, IIRC) talks with department heads and team leads. During these discussions, we covered my experience, the challenges each part of the organization is facing, and how my experience and skills could fit the team.
After that process, which took a couple of weeks, I received a final offer from the recruiter.
In my case, about 75% of the questions were related to past experience (review projects I was proud of, what was my role at X company, learnings from past mistakes...).
And 25% were more technical questions, but always from a high-level point of view (more like "how would you solve this problem?" and none of "invert a binary tree", so to speak).
