New Graduate Software Engineer Interview Experience

Process

The first round was an online assessment on HackerRank. It had 10 MCQs, 1 programming question, and 1 code debugging question. The level of the questions was moderate.

Next, there was a phone interview with a code fragment provided via email. The phone interview was the weirdest of its kind. The interviewer seemed to be in a completely different world, asking memory management questions on top of the code fragment. He was imagining things and writing them down, making it difficult for me to understand what he wanted or what he was trying to explain. I believe he himself was not clear about his requirements.

When asked about the product he was working on, his answer was similarly confusing.
