Software Engineer Interview Experience

Process

They want you to take an online quiz before they even talk to you.

Then, you talk to someone on the phone, and then you go to the site.

It seems like they at least want to give the impression they are very picky.

However, I would imagine they disqualify many qualified people, acting as if they are smart and everyone else is dumb.

Questions

The quiz has 2 coding questions (like linked list, array, etc.) and 11 multiple-choice questions in addition.

The time allotted is 1 hour.

There is a lot of verbosity in the questions, which takes time to understand exactly what they are asking.

I imagine most candidates would fail, not because they cannot do the test, but because of all the story-telling.

I think they want you to fail rather than succeed, so why are they wasting their time trying to hire you?
