Software Engineer Interview Experience

Process

It was a quick interview during the university job fair. I chatted with the engineers first and then was given a whiteboard with one question on it.

There were two options: Java or C++. I chose Java.

After finishing the question, I handed the board back to the engineer. He looked at my answer while I explained why I wrote that. Finally, he gave me some feedback and collected my resume.

Questions

Given a multi-threaded Java program for a stack, mark where locks should be used and unlocked. Also, throw a runtime exception when someone tries to pop an element from an empty stack.
