Casual, felt comfortable while they asked me questions about my educational experience and previous work experience. Asked a variety of questions, none of which were typical LeetCode questions. Interviewers were very kind and social.

Great company, but not to work at
Software Engineer • Former Employee
San Diego, California, United States
April 26, 2023
Pros: It’s a great hardware company. There truly is quality with the modem.
The location in San Diego is unbeatable. You can stay here forever.
The ESPP plan is amazing!
Cons: There is a lack of diversity; the majority of engineering employees are Indian or Chinese. This causes Qualcomm's culture to be similar to the Asian culture of overworking. I saw many coworkers working until midnight or even on weekends. We don’t have on-call, but honestly, being on-call might be better. Moving up takes forever; you’ll be stuck in a role for five-plus years.

Pros: Work-life balance is very team-dependent, but mine was generally pretty good, although very busy at times. You can have a big impact on important features that affect millions of people through Snapdragon products. Many of my team members have been at Qualcomm for several years or even decades.
Cons: Work can be very niche and may not carry over to other companies or industries.
