Lots of important problems to solve.
There's a commitment to open source, since it's central to Qualcomm products (Android).
It is difficult, if not impossible, to work directly in open source projects.
Be prepared to work anonymously and to not be able to build credibility in open source projects where meritocracy is the name of the game (pretty much all).
Remove the barriers to open source participation.
Provide senior leadership plans and stick to them.
Make software a priority and not a checkbox.
