1. First Round Interview (1hr 15 mins) a) My project handling. b) Technical language (C++ / C) questions.

After the first round, I was called by the recruitment team. I said that I already had an offer and didn't want to attend further interviews. Then, after a few hours, they called me back and took details of my offer. They said they would cross that number, and I agreed to proceed to further interview levels.

1. 2nd Round from Japan Online Interview (1 hr) a) About project details. b) Checking the capability of the engineer by deep analysis of the career path. c) How many company switches. d) Had discussion of how critical issues and performance improvements were handled.

2. Technical Discussions (from Japan + From India team) 2 members Panel - 30 ~45 mins a) Project details. b) Details of each language used and what concepts were used. c) Technical questions. d) Set of predefined questions.

3. 4th Round Pure Technical Hands-on Programming (2 ~ 2:30 hours)

1. Given 2 real-time problems from their project.
2. Asked to fix them within 2 hours 30 minutes.
3. The first problem was fixed within 30 minutes.
4. The second question was totally different, so it took a bit longer, as their network was slow while solving on their remote server.

1. 5th Round HR called and just asked what CTC and what ECTC were.

Next, 2 days later, it was in discussion for finalizing, but no call at all.

Finally, after 10 days, they said they could not proceed further due to a budget issue.

Strange, they already said they would cross the number of my existing CTC.

I felt really bad with Rakuten for the false promise. Really don't do such things; it's a waste of time and causes mental stress to the participants.

At least they should call and discuss if negotiation is possible. Unfortunately, nothing was done by the Rakuten HR Team.
