Got an email and scheduled a phone interview. Simple debugging and refactoring exercise to get a feel for your thinking process. Super easy. The interviewer invited me to an onsite, but this is where they really flopped.

While I was waiting, the recruiter and I were communicating about internship positions in case I did grad school. However, after a week of silence waiting to schedule an onsite, I ended up having to make the first move. I emailed my recruiter and she said that they already offered the position and they also didn't have any openings at this time of the year. The fact that they told me they wanted me for an onsite but didn't go through with that or the internships is really awful. I got the impression they lied and weren't going to tell me anything on their own accord if I had never emailed them.
