The few pros that they had have just been gutted, so... There's fancy techno music in the lobby, so you know you work for a cool company /s
Almost no retirement. Instead of matching, you get $500/year. This was kind of ok given other perks except they just announced that they're dropping the annual learning stipend from $2000 to $500 and the well-being subsidy has been cut in half.
I never thought I'd want more project manager involvement, but with the complete lack of organization of work and projects, working here has made me miss things like daily stand-ups and project updates. Everything exists in silos, and everybody wants THEIR projects prioritized without regard to the others.
I honestly can't tell if these are growing pains as the company grows and moves away from a start-up culture or if there's just a fundamental lack of concern with properly managing everything. Clearly they'd rather cut costs by taking things away from individual employees rather than question the fact that the way everything is managed is not at all streamlined and causes redundant work.
Cutting costs needs to come from evaluating internal management practices and improving communications between teams, not from employee benefits. Either commit to agile methodologies or don't, but the inconsistency is not cutting it. If you keep punishing employees for poor management practices, you are going to see an even higher turnover rate than you have now.
The interview process has four stages. The first interview is a simple HR screen that asks straightforward technical problems. The second is an intensive technical screen that is very comprehensive to the job.
Applied online, waiting for the initial phone screen. By looking at the process, it might take 1-3 rounds of phone interviews and one more presentation. It seems important to share your advantages and convince them to hire you.
First phone interview with a recruiter from the company. A few more phone/virtual interviews afterwards with a panel of engineers. Confirmed phone interview within 3 weeks of applying. Got the interview discussion after 3 days of the interview day.
