I was contacted by three different recruiters from three different teams: Material Flow, Battery, and Cell Development.
The recruiter who reached out regarding the Material Flow role was overly optimistic and confirmed he was going to schedule a call with the hiring manager. Three days later, I had to follow up and received a standard rejection email.
The second recruiter reached out to me regarding the battery team. The call went well, and he asked if I would be comfortable traveling to Illinois once a month, which I was okay with. The hiring manager later asked if I was okay moving to Illinois, when the position that was discussed was supposed to be in Palo Alto through all this time.
The third recruiter who reached out regarding Cell Development scheduled a call for two weeks later, which was outside the availability I had given her. She didn't even call when I took time off from my current job to take this call.
Beware, potential candidates. I am so glad I don't have an offer from them. If the recruiting process is this disrespectful and broken, I can't imagine what working for them would be like.
Don't have any expectations from the Rivian team; they are just looking to waste your time. I look forward to never applying to this horrible company ever again.
