This was a very confusing and unprofessional process.
I started communicating with one recruiter and completed a full round of interviews, including coding, system design, and culture assessments. After that, they mentioned I would be a better fit for another role and asked for another full round of interviews with no guarantees.
I was then transferred to another recruiter who had no clue about my case and continued asking for more interviews. As I had already taken vacation to complete the initial rounds, I felt it would be a waste of time to start the whole process from scratch, so I pushed back.
After that, they returned to ask for my compensation expectations. After I stated my number, they simply said it was too much and cut me off, with absolutely no negotiation. I had to explicitly ask for a closure conversation with the recruiter.
I decided to accept an offer from another company that was much better with communication.
