A lot of problems to solve. Not very competitive (in the end, most of the super-talented and highly competitive people go to better companies). Working remotely and opportunity for over-employment (I am sure half of our team is doing that).
Mismanagement and corrupted directors; a relational-based rather than merit-based workplace.
The excessive funding (IPO in this case) of companies, such as Rivian, can lead to inefficiencies and corruption within the organization. Despite having a promising product, mission, and engineering team, the current leadership at Rivian has fallen short. The allocation of a significant budget to the directors and managers has resulted in the hiring of inexperienced individuals with personal connections, ultimately hindering the growth and success of the company.
