Process
Reached out by HR and chatted with a hiring manager. Mostly behavioral questions such as why you want to work at Roblox. The conversation was great and smooth. But they rejected me after a few days.

Lots of smart people, great vision, big market
Senior Software Engineer • Current Employee
San Mateo, California, United States
April 3, 2013
Pros: - Lots of room for new ideas. The tech is fairly new and broad, and there is minimal bureaucracy and approval processes.
- Talent is rewarded.
- Smart coworkers.
- Transparency about company strategies all the way from exec level. Company meetings every week where all details of the business and financials are discussed.
Cons: This company isn't great for people who are just out of school. The expectation is that you take educating and training yourself into your own hands, which could be a bit of a challenge to some. If you do not possess the knowledge and the talent to be a good problem solver, don't expect management to train you on solving things.

Great Engineers, Not so Great Leadership
Senior Software Engineer • Current Employee
San Mateo, California, United States
March 26, 2024
Pros: - Compensation is high.
- Engineers are great, both technically and as people.
- Some of the engineering work is interesting.
Cons: Leadership (C-Suite specifically) is poor. They will lie and break promises for short-term gains while touting they are "taking the long view." Focus seems to be whatever Dave wants as opposed to what the company actually needs.
Remote work is no longer an option. Previous employees who were pre-approved to work remotely were forced to come back to HQ or take severance.
