Process

I recently applied for a role at Roblox and went through their assessment process.

This process was a mix of technical tasks and interactive games. It was challenging but also fun, and it gave me a great insight into the kind of problems they value.

Questions

Task Breakdown:

  • Task 1: Game (Problem-Solving) (25 minutes) This task involved a game where I had to maximize a factory’s profit. The game had different parameters for each round, so I had to think strategically and adjust my approach quickly.

  • Task 2: Game (Car Design) (45 minutes) In this interactive game, I had to design a car to navigate through specific terrain. The challenge was split into two rounds, with different conditions in each round, so adaptability and quick thinking were key.

  • Task 3: Decision-Making Assessment (25 minutes) This part was an MCQ-based test with about 40 questions designed to evaluate how I make decisions in various situations. The scenarios ranged from logical reasoning to judgment calls, testing my problem-solving and prioritization skills.

  • Task 4: Coding Assessment (50 minutes) The coding task consisted of two Leetcode-style problems, one of medium difficulty and the other harder. It was a timed test, and I had to solve the problems within 50 minutes, which was pretty tight but a good test of my algorithmic skills.
