Director Technical Solutions Architecture Interview Experience - London, United Kingdom

Process

A totally unenjoyable and unrealistic process.

I was approached via social media due to an outstanding profile and skills match.

I was asked to do loads of prep work for a mock presentation.

I was asked to learn their products in a few weeks so as to present them back to them.

My technical knowledge of their products before the process was ZERO.

My technical knowledge of their products at the mock presentation was slightly below ZERO.

I was advised prior to the mock presentation that only a general understanding of the products was needed, using the words "high level".

Feedback on the process was "not enough knowledge of the products".

Clearly, the interviewers didn't take the time to read my CV or other social media information on my profile.

The process was set up to make failure more likely rather than highlight weaknesses and identify how to bolster those.

I was told 'after the fact' that a 'turnkey person' was needed, which translates to "we want a Salesforce guru". So why approach someone without a Salesforce background only to let them fail?

Questions

Dumb question, but why do you want the job?
