Technical Architect Interview Experience - Sydney, Australia
Process
The interview process was lethargic and outdated.
- Day 1: Received a call from the recruiter a week after applying through the portal.
- Day 4: First round of recruiter screening.
- Day 15: First round of technical interview by a senior architect – professionally done. It took an email and a couple of calls for HR to respond on the status.
- Day 28: Second round of interview – technical in-depth by the hiring manager and senior architect.
- Day 31: Panel presentation. The hiring manager and senior architect took this for 1.5 hours (originally scheduled for 1 hour) and asked for another take on the technical demo.
- Day 45: Round 2 of panel presentation – again, an in-depth demo and checks for 1.5 hours.
The recruiter ghosted me. Upon calls, she said the presentations and demo were very positive.
- Day 63: I saw the status as "No longer in consideration" in the portal.
The interview was for Mulesoft Technical Architect.
Although I did not have a Mulesoft background, they gave tips and feedback to proceed. I put in a month-long effort to grasp as much as possible and gave a professional demo. All interviews went well, but it seems they ultimately wanted ages of experience in the Mulesoft tool.
Please do not apply if you are not an expert in Mulesoft.
I was half-hearted to proceed after the first demo; the hiring manager was indecisive. Some of the recruiters were good, but ghosting happens once interviews are over.
