Process
After the initial HR interview, I had a preliminary technical interview. After that, I went into a panel interview with two directors. The role called for an eye for strategy along with technology in general and did not specifically suggest extensive Salesforce ecosystem experience; however, the interviewers felt that was an important aspect. Expectations could have been set better, both in the job description and in the HR conversation.

The professional services at Salesforce are probably better equipped than any other implementation partner to provide value and innovation to clients.Cons: Leadership in professional services comes mainly from tier-2 consulting services (acquisitions, lateral hires) companies, and they are trying to bring the worst of that culture to Salesforce. If this continues, Salesforce professional services will just be another premium body shop. They are mostly managers (not leaders) and know how to achieve their targets in ST, with very little concern for the long-term impact of culture in the organization.
