Smart people and big, challenging problems to solve in engineering. People are allowed to be innovative and take chances. The focus on giving back (1:1:1) is pervasive throughout the company.
Infrastructure engineering is very top-heavy. It's become an org of overpriced ex-Microsoft executives that have not delivered anything of value to the company and the group. There is a complete lack of innovation in management style or technology. They have brought with them the management style of the 90s, which didn't really work too well for MSFT. The feeling in the group is contempt for Salesforce and the people committed to Salesforce. People work in fear, which is not the culture it was before they joined. It's sad to see the disregard that they have towards building an org on the values of Salesforce. Bad behavior and horrible treatment of individuals have been overlooked time and time again by HR and management.
Audit the infrastructure engineering team and really find out what they've delivered. Have zero tolerance for bad behavior.
I applied online and received an email from the recruiter the next day. I scheduled a recruiter call. During this call, the recruiter explained the process would be: * A 45-minute interview with a hiring manager. * A 2-hour take-home assessment
I met the recruiter at a job/career fair at university. A few weeks later, I received an email offering me a phone interview. The phone interview was with an engineer and consisted of mostly technical questions. It lasted about an hour. About a wee
Phone Interview. Friendly interviewer.
