Pros

At a time when internships were being cancelled and shortened left and right due to Covid-19, Salesforce not only kept the internship going with the original length and pay (which was at an incredibly competitive rate) but also made sure to introduce many programs and events that would keep us entertained and motivated. The internship itself was wonderful, with a mentor and manager who clearly cared and work that would go into production. I highly recommend that future students who are looking for internships apply for this opportunity.

Cons

The virtual internship wasn't as fun as the usual internship program (as per what I've heard), and it was hard to coordinate with my team, which was in a different timezone (again, due to the virtual aspect of the internship).

It was also disappointing to not have the chance to see the office and experience the culture, which is what I was especially looking forward to.

Advice to Management

Keep up the wonderful work! If the interns need to spend the summer virtually ever again, I would highly recommend looking into having them matched with teams in the same timezone. However, given that there was very little notice this year before having to shift the entire program to a virtual setting, I think the program was surprisingly well planned and I will definitely remember this as my favorite internship experience!
