Nice onsite restaurant, some benefits. Work-life balance has improved dramatically because of less work being given by HQ.
Projects get canned every year, and career paths go haywire. SRUK is just like an offshoring center with one-year projects that need to be negotiated with HQ every year. SRUK should not be called Samsung and should be a separate entity. Contractors form a very high percentage of employees, and they enjoy more clout, power, money, and influence in the company. There are many contractors who have been here for a very long time, spanning years. When projects are closed (there is at least one big project), then permanent employees and contractors are treated the same, shown the door, or placed in other projects, with no difference at all. It feels like being a contractor is better.
It's a very demoralizing environment as the business is not doing well. The future of SRUK is getting bleaker every day, but a number of people are living in oblivion.
Please treat permies better than contractors, otherwise, it's very demoralizing as contractors get to take home much more salary for the same work.
Spent 4 hours coding a few programming problems. Discussed algorithms, approach, and complexity. Was interviewed by two algorithm experts. Had a choice in which language to write the code. It was a mix of whiteboard and real coding.
The technical coding interview was followed by discussions with the team. I found it to be a pretty straightforward process. They have helpful coordinating staff and friendly interviewers. It might be helpful to familiarize yourself with the web p
One HR interview and two field interviews were conducted via virtual meeting. Following this, a brief computer-based personality test was administered. Overall, the entire process was quite straightforward and smooth.
