The first round was an online round consisting of two programming questions and a few (maybe 30) aptitude questions.
The programming questions included OOPS concepts and a basic data structure question.
The second round was at SAP Labs, Bangalore. This round was a paper and pen round. We were given two extremely basic questions. The questions are mentioned. Given the level of questions, they took me a few minutes to solve. I solved both questions, but the person who corrected my answer script had poor knowledge of programming.
He questioned me on using different names for formal and actual parameters, claiming my programs would crash. Looking at my resume, I wouldn't have expected to be asked such questions. Sadly, that person seemed offended somehow.
The same person didn't know about integer division (//) in Python. My friend, who qualified with me for the interview, couldn't make it because that interviewer thought it was the OR symbol (||). My friend uses Python. That interviewer claimed he asked the whole panel what it meant, and he said nobody knew.
SAP is a prestigious company. People like that not only incur loss to their quality but also to the company. A humble request to HR: please try to avoid such people from taking interviews. You could miss out on some gems.
