The hiring manager contacted me via LinkedIn.
Okay, I thought – this sounds like an interesting change.
I applied via their HR website and received an inspiring email: "You were picked out of gazillions."
The interviews took half a day and were very haphazard and disorganized.
I received a call from the HR person two weeks after her email, which stated, "We will let you know by Monday." This was really out of the blue.
She said they wanted to extend an offer and immediately started strange haggling. I had never experienced such a weird trick before. I was not ready for that (and that was apparently the purpose of the two-week delay), so I asked to postpone the conversation until the next day.
The next day, nobody was available to talk. I received a formal "thank you" letter a couple of days later. Bizarre but true – the letter stated that "another finalist was chosen for the position."
Oh well. The position was still being advertised months later.
I have general questions on the ROI of certain features I implemented in the past.
