Pros
  • Extremely welcoming and helpful team.
  • Interesting projects that, from what I gather, are picked to align with the passion/interest of the intern.
  • Not an overly stressful environment. Obviously, there is the stress of learning all the aspects of a new job, but the team does a very good job of uplifting you and making sure you succeed.
  • Excellent time off, including occasional company-wide mental health holidays.
  • $$ (Like, kind of insane $$).
  • A lot of intern events where you are paid to pretty much hang out.
  • Good career trajectory if you can secure a return offer.
  • Seems like a uniquely safe company layoff-wise.
Cons

To preface these, they are some very minor quirks/nitpicks to an otherwise excellent experience. These should in no way deter you from gunning for this position.

  • It can be difficult getting used to their internal development environment. Although by the end of my 3-month internship, I think I could navigate it pretty well (you aren't just coding in a traditional IDE).
  • As is with many software jobs for massive companies, you sometimes have to take meetings with people in other parts of the world, and that means either early mornings or late nights.
Advice to Management

Management was extremely supportive of the entire process and very welcoming.
