Shopify's interview process for R&D applicants consists of five stages:

• A short intro call with the recruiter.
• A simple 30-minute live coding challenge.
• A pair programming session that tackles a somewhat complex problem, lasting approximately 1.5 hours.
• A Tech Deep Dive call, mostly focusing on architecture, design, and problem-solving in a wider context.
• As the last step, there is one additional call that is more about culture fit. Next comes the offer (this might require an additional short call where it will be presented verbally, but this is not essential and very short).

Nothing particularly specific about the process in general. Maybe I was lucky, but none of the technical calls were really very complex. Maybe it's just about the people who interviewed me – the whole process at Shopify was one of the most friendly and stress-free experiences in my entire career.
