Pros: This is a big company, and I have not seen any layoffs in 7 years. It is possible to move from one department to another. Diversity is really good.
Cons: No growth in the career.
Lot of old people, and young people also become old people soon after they take a position in the company.
Lot of politics and routine work.

Pros: Staff is multicultural and friendly.
Evening or weekend work is usually not needed or requested, and there is flexibility for your working hours.
Work-life balance definitely exists.
You will get a small raise every year if the company can afford it. Bonuses are rare.
The benefits are quite good: you can include your family and get life insurance, disability insurance, long-term care, and 401K match on top of the usual health benefits.
Cons: Little to no training is provided for the job you are hired for. The company does not really promote career development. Unless you take action yourself, you may do the same kind of job until you retire. Training, if any, is provided within the company. It is still a mystery to me what is considered when it comes to promotions, but skills do not seem to be a part of it.
