Process

I received a call from someone at Siemens who asked about my expectations. I clearly mentioned all my expectations, and they proceeded with my application.

  • The first round was a technical interview, which I did well in and received a call from HR for the second round.
  • The second round was with the Architect, and I did really well in that as well, receiving a call for the third round.
  • The third round was a managerial round. I was shocked by the salary negotiation question because I had clearly mentioned my expectations before the first round. I stated that it was not negotiable, yet the interview continued.

I waited three days for feedback but didn't get a call, so I called back. The HR then told me that my salary expectations were higher than their budget. Seriously, you realized your budget at this point? What were you doing all this while I was struggling to make time for the interviews? I had to struggle a lot and change my plans to attend the interview, as I was going to the office and not working from home. These people told me at the end, after wasting my time, that they couldn't proceed because of their budget.

This is highly unacceptable. Respect others' time as well. Don't just waste people's time if you don't have the budget.
