Good salary and only a few companies in MDM.
Pathetic culture. Never seen such a work environment. Poor and highly biased local management.
There are employees who are directly/indirectly either referrals or relatives of managers, and they have an upper hand in everything like promotions, appraisals, appreciations, and other official facilities, like coming late and leaving early, or might get an office phone, etc.
Others who are expert in flattery will always be seen around managers and doing their best to please them. By that way, managers give those favors.
If you do not fall into either of the above categories, then you cannot survive in this company. Managers will pull back. The actual situation will be different from what they communicate to others, and at the end, the person leaves the company. They leave managers, not the company.
Unfortunately, the higher management is not taking it seriously, and people are leaving the company.
We need some good leaders who can create a good culture in the company and fire the local managers.

I applied through the portal, and HR called me. It was the first round, featuring some basic C++ questions and then one threading question. The questions were not difficult; they were simply checking basic implementation.
