Long and confusing onsite interview process!
It was all smooth until the onsite interview. The process at the Melbourne office was laborious, panel after panel! I was a little disappointed that none of the panel members had seen my code submission, even though I was told I would be quizzed based on my submission and a few technical questions.
The "technical" questions were trivial and sounded like a junior-level sysadmin interview. As I walked out the door, I was sure I had the job, but it was followed by the usual rejection email: "...thank you for meeting us, we enjoyed speaking to you..."
I would have expected feedback on my performance, especially when one has... The engineering manager, though, at the end mentioned that he was impressed with my submission, although I only had about 5 minutes of meeting with him.
