Pros: If you don’t care, most employees and managers don’t care either. Since the merger, rest and vest is a way of life.

Cons: If you are actually a qualified employee who values work ethic, steer clear. They promote DEI above everything else. If your colleague is part of that collect them all set, then their career is set even if their abilities are two levels below where their title says they should be. Females made up 25% of the engineering force, but 50% of promotions one year. If you were not DEI, they didn’t even consider you. Basically, if you are looking to work with the best and brightest people you ever will in your career… steer clear, and you will be sadly disappointed.

Pros: Good work-life balance and a very good team.

Cons: Salesforce acquisition means that there is a lot less certainty.

Pros: Uses Slack for everything, obviously; great work-life balance; and clear expectations in eng IC career ladder.

Cons: More and more Salesforce corporate policies are eroding the old Slack people-first culture. I've felt disengaged with executive leadership since the departure of Cal Henderson.
