I applied online.
Phone screening: Recruiter was 10 minutes late and apologized. Was asked what I know about SpaceX along with some simple technical questions. Concluded with the recruiter telling me my score along with the average score.
Questions
Normal cantilever beam question: force on one end, where does the beam break?
It then expanded off of that into:
- What if it was hollow?
- What if it was made of a composite?
- What if the diameter was doubled?

Pros: Very fast paced, and not a lot of oversight when you make design changes, which can be a blessing or a curse.
Cons: No work life balance. In order to be successful, you need to be available/on call 24/7 and work most weekends and holidays. Every year, they are required to fire 10% of the employees, so if you're not a workaholic, you'll eventually get fired.
