Process

Splunk has zero respect for candidates' time and effort. They ensure you meet everyone on the team. If a team member is unavailable, they will make you do a second round with that absentee member. They are responsive until the final round. Anyone who claims they are working on improving their ghosting culture is lying through their teeth. Based on past reviews, it seems Splunk takes pride in its "ghosting" culture. I have been ghosted twice after on-site interviews at Splunk. In between the ghosting, I received one offer, but it came after I had already joined another company because they were late by a month. It does not matter to them if you are on a deadline, as they will never respect your deadline. It's Splunk's timeline that matters most, and the candidate always needs to accommodate.

Ironically, I had worked with one of Splunk's recruiters when she worked for a different company. She ghosted me there as well. When she told me after my on-site interview that she would get back after the debrief, which was supposed to happen the next day, I felt sick to my stomach because I knew she was shamelessly lying and would ghost me. She claimed she gave me her cellphone number and I could reach her anytime, but she did not give me her phone number. What a loser!

I have come to strongly believe that Splunk trains its recruiters to ghost candidates or hires recruiters based on their ghosting skills to be the number one company for the worst candidate experience. One of the hiring managers said finding the right candidate is tough and continuously apologized for taking a few minutes over the scheduled time. I thought to myself, "Yeah, he is going to ghost me until he finds a candidate better than me. If he does not find a candidate better than me, an offer might come in a month or two, or I will never hear back." How can one fake so much?

Anyone trying to initiate "open conversation" through Glassdoor is making a genuine effort to mislead the Glassdoor community and save face, because this ghosting culture is embedded within Splunk and is like a pandemic within the company. Even a layman can see what a horrible experience Splunk puts potential candidates through.

Advice to fellow candidates: Be sure to lock your dignity in a box when interviewing with Splunk because they will scorch the earth to take it away from you.
