Software Engineer - Front End Interview Experience

Process

I received an email with an invitation to a HackerRank coding problem. It was JavaScript specific since it was for a Front End role. Questions tested variable scope, understanding of JavaScript functions, and currying (two questions on currying functions). It was one of the more difficult JavaScript tests I've taken.

The recruiter informed me I got a perfect score. The recruiter told me the next step would be a project.

She was extremely helpful through the whole process and always responded within one day.

The project consisted of two open-ended prompts to choose from. Each had few requirements. They suggested I have a call with a lead engineer before I started.

The call was brief, about 15 minutes, just for clarification. Though there was not an enforced time limit, they asked me to spend 3-4 hours on this assignment. I thought I did it well for the time limit; however, they did not agree. They wanted data encapsulated with the module design pattern and a more robust project setup.
