I didn't go as far in the first round, which was the coding challenge. Overall, their coding challenge was quite different from what I'm used to. It was easy to do, but I didn't manage to get in.

Pros: I worked there during the start of the pandemic. Stripe is very people-oriented and always made sure employees' well-being was prioritized through various means, like more PTO for everyone to help them deal with pandemic-induced stress.
Good engineering practices.
Innovative, solves problems from first principles.
Transparent communication within the company.
Cons: It can be difficult keeping up with everything going on at the company, especially as it scales. Sometimes code words are used, so you only know about what's being discussed if you already know about it.

Pros: My teammates were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. There were plenty of opportunities to learn.
Cons: Some teams were beginning to play political games to the detriment of shared objectives.
The current environment in the company is like a pressure cooker.
The operating team isn't very transparent and is getting increasingly volatile.
