Process

I was contacted by a recruiter from LinkedIn. The interview process was pretty standard, consisting of one phone screen followed by 5 rounds of virtual onsite interviews:

  • Coding
  • System Design
  • Behavioral Questions
  • Integration
  • Bug Squash

Questions

Their on-site interview was different from most other companies. I'd like to mention two rounds:

  • Integration: This round required you to download some code from a Git repository and set up a local environment to run it. You needed to understand HTTP REST calls, parse JSON, and send requests to an API server. I managed to complete the code with some Googling of new libraries/APIs.
  • Bug Squash: This round required you to understand their codebase and fix multiple bugs based on test case failures. I was able to fix some of them. Some bugs were easy to fix, but others were difficult, especially when the code was compact, lacked comments, or touched advanced components of a coding language that I had rarely or never used.

There wasn't much need to prepare intensely for their interview, and I didn't expect to pass from the beginning. It was best to just try your luck.
