I applied online. The process took a week.

The first round was a recruiter call followed by a hiring manager interview. The recruiter asked some interesting questions that were away from the norm. The hiring manager round was supposed to contain technical questions, but in this case, it was mostly non-technical. I am not sure if I misunderstood the expectations.

Pros: Pros: - Awesome business model - Truly cares about fans - Chris is an awesome CEO - Terrific c-sat scores

Cons: If you are an engineer or a proponent of modern engineering management, RUN AWAY!! Honestly, if you are not in engineering or product management or engineering operations, you'll love this place. Engineering organization at StubHub is a genuine Moronocracy, headed by an eBay reject who actively encourages cronyism and politics. In fact, you will do wonderfully if you can suspend all rationality and excel in kissing ass! The next level below CTO is pure Poison. Three genuine idiots (you know who you are) bereft of skills and maturity of even a junior manager, continue to lead with blatant ignorance and insecurity that makes it a living hell for people who are capable of thinking. These 3Ms are the root of all things terrible with StubHub and have filled the ranks with more yes men and women than bright, competent, and passionate professionals. It's truly shameful how they screwed up the work culture and stifled creativity. The sad thing is while there are still a couple of great engineers and managers left, no one listens to them, and most of the good ones have already left.

Cons: 1. Zero accountability. 2. Perception matters more than actual work. A person who has zero ideas and delivers nothing got promoted to head strategy. You get rewarded if you sound smart and ramble on meeting after meeting without delivering anything. 3. Awful tech leadership who keep hiring ex-Amazon people without interviews. The CTO joined a year ago and he still can't give any details on the p&t strategy. The chief of staff doesn't understand the business or tech yet rambles on. 4. People doing the work never receive credit.

Pros: Good, fun, smart and talented people. Always something exciting going on from learning lunches to happy hours. Easy commute - just 2 blocks from BART. If you're a sports fan there's always a screen on with some match which turns lunchtime into a hangout. Great business direction. Having a good Work/Life balance is encouraged daily from the top down.

Cons: Management talks, but doesn't always walk the talk. While the overall business direction is good, the execution can sometimes come off poorly. There is a great potential for meeting overload.
