Software Engineer Interview Experience - Aliso Viejo, California
Process
Design a mass notification system. It should notify users within some amount of time. You can assume an email provider may be used, like SendGrid. Talk about things like adding a pixel to check for delivery. Talk about delivery methods, at least once, at most once, etc. The interviewer told me how toxic the corporate politics were.

- 1.0Avoid At All CostsSoftware Engineer • Former EmployeeApril 11, 2025Pros: NYC office was nice. Pay was competitive.Cons: Normalized culture of firing instead of investing in engineers. I witnessed over 10 firings, both of new and tenured engineers. I witnessed one promotion in that same time period, with people constantly bringing up management's lack of focus on career progression in all-hands to deaf ears. Engineering experience is painful, and the tech debt is some of the worst that I've seen in the industry, and little is done to tackle it. I took their offer because it was 20% better than my second best offer, and I still regret it. Seriously, it is not worth it. I cannot stress that enough.
