Process

I saw Target at my college and applied within the school system. I was then called back for two group panel interviews.

After that, I had to have a DTL (District Team Leader) interview.

Following that, I was given the offer to intern as an ETL (Executive Team Leader).

Target Work Experiences

Internship for Target, Summer 2019

ETL Intern • Former Employee

San Jose, California, United States

September 9, 2020

Pros: - Laid back - Learned how each department worked - Got to volunteer for the community - Met a lot of new people

Cons: - Often times, busy work was assigned. - Some employee leaders were always busy, so they did not make time for interns. - It was unfair; some interns had to work closing shifts while others were let off because they "didn't want to." - Very obvious favoritism was present.

If you are a store intern, get out while you can

ETL Intern • Former Employee

Tampa, Florida, United States

Pros: They do a great job with Leadership Development, and you learn to deal with constantly changing environments, which can be helpful. It is a good company to have on your resume. You will share a trauma bond with all the leaders you worked with, and it is a great networking point when you meet someone that also worked at Target.

Cons: I see so many new interns coming through, and I just want to tell them all to get out now. Target will work you to the bone; they do not care about your mental health or your life outside of work. There are so many other jobs out there where you make more and you aren't breaking your back and spending 24/7 at a store. I know far too many people that worked at Target that are on anxiety meds because the pressure is too much.
